Wild Jubilation in Agbowa-Ikosi, as new Abowa is crowned 11 years after King Odumeru.
It was all jubilation today for the people of the Ancient town of Agbowa-Ikosi as the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area Akogun Wale Raji Anomo presented the staff of office to H.R.M. Oba Saheed Owolabi Momson as the Abowa of Agbowa kingdom at the Epe Local Government Council Chamber, Itamarun, Epe.
Along with the Abowa of Agbowa, Mr. Governor also presented staff of offices to HRM. Oba Musiliu Abiola Oliwo (Gbadewolu 1) as the Aladepekun of Odo-Egiri land and HRM. Oba Adebowale Adeshina Sulaimon as the Omola of Odomola. In his address, Mr. Governor, ably represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Governments and Community Affairs, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa congratulated the 3 monarchs on their ascension to the throne of their forefathers and prayed for their reign to bring in peace, progress and prosperity to their respective communities.
Also at the occasion was the immediate past Special Adviser to Mr. Governor on LGCA, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Roberts; House Assembly member Epe Constituency II; Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye and Hon. Wasiu Odeyemi (WASTAB).
Leading the delegation of Royal fathers is the Vice-chairman Lagos State Council of Obas and Chief and the Oloja of Epe land, H.R.M Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, (Arolugbade, Elepe of Epe); the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, HRM Oba Ganiyu Asunmo Aderibigbe; The Olota of Otta-Ikosi, HRM Oba Elias Omoloro; The Olowu of Owu-Ikosi, Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari; The olofin-Ajaiye of Orugbo-Iddo, HRM Oba M.A Abdul; Royal fathers from Epe LG, Eredo LCDA and some neighboring communities in Ogun State.
The newly crowned Abowa was received with fanfare by residents and was escorted with songs of praise and adoration to his palace. The ascension of Oba Saheed Owolabi Momson as the Abowa of Agbowa brings to rest the Obaship tussle which has bedeviled the community in the last 11 years.
