Posthumous Birthday: Anomo pays emotional Tribute to Wife; Announces the establishment of AKANKE FOUNDATION

Agbowa, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA – December 14, 2024.

The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Otunba Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has paid an emotional tribute to his late wife, Yeye Sijuade Akanke Anomo, on what would have been her birthday today. This marks the first time the beloved matriarch’s birthday has been celebrated posthumously since her passing.

In a heartfelt message, the grieving Chairman expressed his deep sorrow at having to commemorate his wife’s birthday in her absence. “Never in my life did I imagine that I would be wishing you a happy birthday in your absence, let alone posthumously,” he wrote. Describing the profound void left by her demise, Otunba Anomo shared how her loss has irreversibly altered his life and the lives of their family and community.

Yeye Sijuade Akanke Anomo was remembered not only as a devoted wife and mother but also as a beacon of kindness and service to humanity. “You were far more than my wife; you were my anchor, my confidant, my greatest motivator, and the irreplaceable soul of our family. Your warmth and compassion touched countless lives,” Otunba Anomo said in his tribute.

In honor of her legacy, Otunba Anomo revealed the establishment of AKANKE FOUNDATION, a charitable initiative dedicated to continuing her selfless acts of kindness. The foundation focuses on supporting the less privileged, providing scholarships for indigent students, caring for the aged and widows, and implementing special community interventions. Notably, it also prioritizes creating awareness and care for cancer warriors—a cause Yeye Sijuade was deeply passionate about.

According to Otunba Anomo, the foundation is already assisting five cancer warriors, including one survivor whose triumph continues to inspire others. “Your love and light continue to guide this mission, and through it, you remain with us, touching lives as you always did,” he remarked.

The tribute closed with a poignant vow to uphold her values and keep her memory alive. “Happy posthumous birthday, my queen, my angel, my everything. I love you endlessly and miss you beyond words. Until the day we are reunited, I will carry your love and memory with me always,” Otunba Anomo concluded.

The late Yeye Sijuade Akanke Anomo, who was widely admired for her grace, compassion, and dedication to community service, continues to be a source of inspiration even in her absence.

May Almighty Allah continue to lighten her grave and grant her Aljanah Firdaus.
